So sad to learn that Guru of the legendary Gangstarr crew passed away...finally losing his battle with cancer. Gangstarr played such an instrumental role in my maturity into the genre I fell in love with at a very early age. Guru's lyrical presence !!! - as well as being a Boston native - !!! combined with DJ Premier's so unbelievably New York sound and influential scratch patterns, were just what I needed as I catapulted into the entertainment world.
Today, put some ... Step In The Arena ... Moment Of Truth ... Hard To Earn ... maybe something from the Jazzmatazz series .... on repeat all day long.
Load up on some ... Just To Get A Rep ... You Know My Steez ... Mass Appeal ... for me, I loved that record with Craig David on JzzMtzz Vol. 3 ... it's called No More, google it ... on your iPods and cell phones.
